OBA (Oceanic Bodywork@ Aqua) is an aquatic bodywork modality, developed by Kaya Femerling and Nirvano Martina Schulz in the mid-80’s and practiced in a warm water pool (ideally 35°C).

You will experience floating other people and being floated, on the surface and under water, thereby creating space for deep relaxation and nurturing body, mind and spirit.
This basic course is for everyone interested in a first exploration into the joy of aquatic therapy work.

Tandem Watsu® for Couples with Tatyana Penzina
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
Tandem Watsu for Couples is a unique and deeply connecting aquatic experience in which two providers support and guide two partners simultaneously in warm water. Moving in harmony, the practitioners create a shared flow that allows both receivers to remain in subtle connection with each other throughout the session. This form of bodywork invites couples to explore trust, communication, and presence beyond words, in an environment where movement, breath, and touch become the primary language.
The experience is designed to foster a sense of unity while still honouring each individual’s needs. At times, partners may be gently brought closer together, allowing for moments of contact, synchronized breathing, or shared stillness. At other times, they may be guided apart, creating space for personal integration before reconnecting again. This dynamic interplay between togetherness and individuality mirrors the natural rhythm of a healthy relationship.
Tandem Watsu® is not about performing synchronized techniques, but about cultivating sensitivity and attunement—both between the practitioners and within the couple. The quality of presence, the timing of movements, and the subtle awareness of each partner’s state all contribute to a coherent and nourishing experience. The water supports a sense of weightlessness and safety, making it easier to release tension and access deeper levels of relaxation.
For couples, this practice can be profoundly enriching. It offers an opportunity to reconnect in a non-verbal, embodied way, to experience mutual support, and to rediscover a sense of flow together. Whether approached as a therapeutic session or as a shared journey, Tandem Watsu® opens a space for intimacy, trust, and renewed connection.
Prerequisites: Watsu 2 mastery.
Credits: Tandem Watsu for Couples gives 32 hours of credit for registration as a supplemental class with Watsu India.

Universal Flow with Tatyana Penzina
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
The body can be understood as a finely tuned system of levers, where bones, joints, and muscles interact to create movement, balance, and support. Each action we perform—whether simple or complex—is the result of these levers working in harmony.
By understanding the fundamental principles of levers—such as balance points, weight distribution, and the relationship between effort and resistance—you gain a deeper insight into how the body naturally moves underwater.
Universal Flow is not a method based on fixed sequences or prescribed forms. It is an exploration of principles: how to support and guide the body in water, how to listen through touch, how to follow the rhythm of breath, and how to harmonise movement with the natural flow of the aquatic environment. Attention to small nuances—such as the timing of an exhale, the quality of contact, or the direction of a subtle shift—becomes essential in creating a coherent and nurturing experience.
The course is grounded in the knowledge of biomechanics and neurophysiology, offering a scientific foundation for this intuitive work. By integrating these perspectives, participants develop both a clear understanding and a refined sensitivity, enabling them to work with the body in a way that is both informed and deeply responsive.
Prerequisites: Watsu Basic.
Credits: Universal Flow gives 25 hours of credit for registration as a supplemental class with Watsu India.
Timings: 8.45 am – 6.30 pm
Price: ₹ 19,950 (lunch included)

Tantsu® 1 with Keli Procopio
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
A 6-day intensive.
Tantsu grew out of Watsu. Watsu is a form of aquatic bodywork developed in the 1980s by Harold Dull, floating and stretching people in warm water. In Tantsu, the unconditional holding of Watsu is brought back onto land.
Tantsu offers a deep state of listening and creates an unconditional union and cradle of connected breath and presence. The trust established by this cradle and its creative exploration make it ideal for giving a Tantsu session to anybody.
During the first four days, you will be exposed to the basics of Tantsu: cradling someone in a comfortable hold, which gives access to a deep level of relaxation and stillness. The micro-movements that appear will guide your moves, stretches and rotations of shoulders, arms, hips and legs, thereby releasing blockages in the energy flow.
The following two days will take you deeper into body-listening and exploration of various possible body movements. You will also gain knowledge about meridians, hara, and the connection between mind and body.
In this intensive Tantsu will become a joyful expression of caring love.

Healing Dance® Underwater Basics with Ashaman
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
Healing Dance® Underwater Basics (HDUB) is designed as a first underwater course for students who have already taken surface courses, such as WATSU I or Healing Dance I.
HDUB is a 5 day course that specifically prepares you to take Shape & Space and Above & Below, the two major underwater trainings of Healing Dance. The transition to submerging receivers rather than merely supporting them on the surface entails learning several skills before one can take a receiver safely underwater.
The fundamentals covered in the course include how to
a) read the breath precisely;
b) signal appropriately;
c) offer and remove the nose clip;
d) unweight the head on submerging;
e) give the head freedom underwater;
f) gauge the amount of time spent underwater;
g) maintain the absolute space;
h) soften the hands in grips;
i) use one’s weight and breath to create deep movements;
j) travel in the pool, and
k) pre-support the head on surfacing.
Participants learn a surface warm-up followed by a sequence of thirteen submergings arranged in an order that could be used in a session. A written and photo manual are provided and an MP4 of the sequence is made available. This is a core course in the Underwater Practitioner Certification.
It is 42 hours in length over 5 days and serves as a prerequisite to Shape & Space or Above & Below.

Watsu® Basic with Keli Procopio & Shreya
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
A 2-day course on the surface only.
Watsu is an aquatic bodywork modality given in a warm water pool (ideally 35°C).
Watsu, where the client’s face stays always on the surface, introduces the qualities and body mechanics required to work with someone in water in order to create a profound state of both physical and mental relaxation. The flowing interaction with water, its fluid support and warm embrace, and the practitioner’s presence provide a space for the client to experience the multi-layered benefits of this powerful and softening bodywork.
Watsu offers an opportunity for profound relaxation and letting go, for building trust, for being nurtured and held, for expanding inner and outer boundaries, for releasing emotions and traumas – ultimately, for freeing body and mind in a flow unique to each client and to each session.
In this course, you will practice basic techniques and qualities (grounding, presence, stillness, movement, attention) of being and moving another body in water. You will experience floating other people and being floated on the surface, thereby creating space for deep relaxation and nurturing body, mind and spirit.
Participants in this course often appreciate the group space, which fosters deep, meaningful and nurturing connections.

Emotional Process for Watsu® with Keli Procopio
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
Practicing WATSU® offers the opportunity to experience deep emotions and explore hidden needs, fears, and desires. While water has the power to dissolve tensions and traumas crystallized in the body, fully accessing its healing force requires that every session takes place within a climate of welcome, containment, and safety.
Navigating emotions—recognizing and welcoming them within a safe and supportive flow—is a core competence for every practitioner.
The professional’s role is to create a protected space. To do this, technical skill must merge with a natural capacity for empathic listening. This course invites students to meet their own inner world and that of others, transforming sensitivity into a tool for conscious work.
Methodology
Through a continuous alternation between land and water, the module includes:
• Body-based and imaginative exercises
• Role plays and dramatizations
• Group sharing
The aim is to learn how to respond with integrity to dynamics that emerge in session: How do I react to another’s emotion? How do I feel when I am not trusted? What is my response in the face of criticism or emotional dependency? Sharing these experiences helps the student become more aware and confident, able to authentically support another human being on their growth journey.
Objectives
• Deep Listening: Tuning into the receiver’s subtle frequencies
• Ecological Communication: Expressing and listening while respecting the other’s space
• Relationship and Interview: Managing verbal contact before and after the session
• Chemistry and Energy of Emotions: Understanding how the body processes feeling
• Emotional Regulation: Practical tools to maintain one’s “center” during the work
Prerequisites: Watsu 1.
Credits: Emotional Process for Watsu is recognized by WABA (Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association) and gives 25 hours of credit for registration with WABA and Watsu India.
Timings: 8.45 am – 6.30 pm

Healing Dance® Above & Below with Ashaman
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
This class is designed to bring the principles of Healing Dance® into the underwater experience.
Maintaining flow above and below the surface is integral; the material explores how to smooth out the moment of submerging and surfacing. When rhythm, movement shape and body position are pre-set at the surface, the receiver experiences a less radical change at the moment of submerging.
The coursework begins taking WATSU’s Basic Moves underwater and extends this idea to the whole session, introducing a variety of takedown moves from the repertoire of Healing Dance. From the feedback of practitioners working with Above & Below we know that it is indeed making going under possible for people previously unable to allow themselves to be submerged.
Taking the moves below the surface becomes a fluid dance, bringing the receiver to a place where there is no need to breathe and bringing the giver to a joy in movement and presence.
This class offers a copious toolbox of moves that are simple, elegant and intriguing to enrich your experience in the underwater world.
A written and photo manual are provided and an MP4 of the sequence is made available.
This is a core course in the Underwater Practitioner Certification. It is 50 hours in length over 6 days and may be taken before or after Shape & Space.
Prerequisites: Healing Dance 1 plus Healing Dance Underwater Basics or WaterDance 1.
Credits: Healing Dance Above & Below is recognized by WABA (Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association) and gives 50 hours of credit for registration with WABA and Watsu India.

Cosmic Child with Nirvano
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
Prenatal Work with Oceanic Bodywork® Aqua.
Your physical life begins at conception, which offers you a formless, boundless, and timeless existence to develop safely in your mother’s womb. This environment allows you to undergo all stages of evolution in a short time, providing love, warmth, and the freedom to move weightlessly. Even as an adult, every cell in your body, your innermost core, your soul, and your subconscious still remember this time.
Birth is a powerful transition, marking your entry into the world. It separates you from your mother and, in a broader sense, from the universe. The feeling of isolation and loneliness can persist throughout life, often repressed and buried deep in your subconscious. The warm water environment can create a receptive space where your pain and longing can emerge.
The prenatal phase and birth have a profound influence on your entire life. They shape your most important attitudes and impact your life patterns and relationships. The desire to experience original unity with the universe remains, bringing inner peace as the feeling of separation fades. In moments of surrender and unconditional love, you become one again, a flowing part of the whole.
The Process
The Cosmic Child process focuses on a meditative experience rather than learning new techniques. The challenge is in the “being” rather than “doing.” On this inner journey of discovery, you encounter yourself.
Through reflex movements, aquatic body waves, and embryonic positions, you dive deeper into memories of your birth, prenatal phase, conception, and beyond, experiencing a space of deep inner stillness.
Water work and gentle exercises open hidden inner spaces within your subconscious. The warm water, Oceanic Bodywork® Aqua, and the loving presence of the water family accompany you through this intensive process.

Ai Chi is a total body relaxation and strengthening progression used for aquatic therapy. This aquatic technique is characterised by slow movement coordinated with deep breathing.

The first six arm movements are based on Qi Gong, with a relatively static and symmetrical body posture. The subsequent movements are based on Tai Chi, with continuous shifting of the center of gravity.
The progression moves through a series of “regulatory conditions” of increasing difficulty, from static to dynamic, symmetrical to rotatory and asymmetrical movement, and visual to non-visual (vestibular) control.

OBA Basic Liquid Joy with Aswin & Tamara
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
A 2-day course on the surface and under water.
OBA (Oceanic Bodywork@ Aqua) is an aquatic bodywork modality, developed by Kaya Femerling and Nirvano Martina Schulz in the mid-80’s and practiced in a warm water pool (ideally 35°C).
It combines elements of light movements, soft stretching movements , aquatic tissue massage and joint release as well as energy and breath work in a unique way both above and below the water surface.
During this course, you will learn a series of simple movements and techniques, both on the surface (including floating with cushion and pool noodle) as well as under water (with a nose clip).
You will also practice basic qualities such as grounding, presence, stillness and attention, while moving another body in water. You will experience floating other people and being floated, on the surface and under water, thereby creating space for deep relaxation and nurturing body, mind and spirit.
This basic course is for everyone interested in a first exploration into the joy of aquatic therapy work.
More about Oceanic Bodywork@ Aqua (OBA)
This form of aquatic therapy invites you to experience the healing energies of water in a new way. Chronic physical pain as well as emotional tensions can be released. Special positions may remind you of how you felt to be held as a child.
You might dive into a wondrous world of memories, of floating weightlessly in the protective womb of your mother, of diving right back into that very space where you were surrounded by soft warm water.
OBA invites you to experience again the nurturing qualities of being held and loved, and to rediscover trust, peace within yourself, and a sense of coming home.
Prerequisites: No previous experience required.

Woga® 1&2 (Yoga in Water) with Ankit & Tamara
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
A 2-day course.
Woga is a combination of two words: water and yoga. It is based on classic yoga poses and stretches, modified for standing in water that is waist-to-chest height. Woga focuses on Hatha Yoga in water, including asanas performed in standing position, against the wall, in floating position, and under water. The course also includes pranayama and meditation.
Classes follow a structure similar to land-based yoga: breathing exercises, warm-ups, a series of poses, and a relaxation period. The key difference is that you are in a warm water pool! Swimming skills are not required. By reducing the effects of gravity, water allows ease of movements, unblocks joints, lengthens and relaxes muscles, alleviates negative tensions, and prevents stress, insomnia and anxiety.
Prerequisites: No previous experience required (also no need to know how to swim).
Credits: Woga 1&2 (Yoga in Water) gives 12 supplementary hours of credit for registration as international Watsu practitioner within the Watsu India learning program.
Timings: 8.45 am – 6.00 pm

WaterDance Fundamental with Roberto
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
In this course, we will focus on three fundamental aspects of WaterDance: vertical grounding, posture of both giver and receiver, and the breath.
The key movement is Water Breath Dance, in which you will float someone in your arms allowing them to gently sink as they exhale and rising with them as you both inhale. This creates a profound connection that carries through all other surface and underwater movements.
Throughout the course, you will also learn in a playful and yet attentive way how to bring your partner under water (with a nose clip). Sufficient time will also be given for integrating fears or apprehensions to go under water.
In addition, you will learn and practice the basic WaterDance movements, which form the essential core of this powerful aquatic-bodywork modality.
On land, various tools such as guided meditations, body & energy work, active breathing exercises, and practising effective communication skills will offer opportunities for connecting deeper with yourself and others.
Prerequisites: No previous experience required.

WaterDance 1 with Roberto
At Quiet Healing Center, Auroville, India
A 6-day course, mainly under water.
WaterDance (also known as WATA or WasserTanzen) is a dynamic, mind- and playful movement therapy. It was developed by Peter Schröter and Arjana C. Brunschwiler in the late 80s.
In this foundational course, we explore the art of connecting with the breath and establishing a deep, trusting relationship with our partners to guide them underwater with confidence and care.
Through practice with diverse body types, we’ll learn to adapt our technique, cultivating greater safety, fluidity, and poetic expression in our movements.
By guiding our partners underwater using kumbhaka (breath retention from Pranayama), we invite them into deep states of relaxation, inner silence, freedom, and joy. Any fears related to immersion are welcomed with presence and compassion.
We will learn the “short form,” comprising more than 20 distinct positions and movements. Special emphasis will be placed on creating a safe, gentle, and fluid environment to foster a sense of freedom and joy.
Prerequisites: WaterDance Fundamental.
